Nevada Prospects for Sale

Total acreage for sale: 138,244

Cedar Strat Corp. has 5 prospects for sale in Nevada. All available prospects lie in the Cordilleran thrust belt, with potential for rich commercial oil & gas development. All prospects have high commercial potential.

Taken together, the structural features of these prospects may contain billions of barrels of oil. Details about the structural features that are known to date for each prospect will be released to a potential participant after the participant signs a Confidentiality Agreement.

Improving Discoveries through Serial Transect Mapping

Cedar Strat has engaged Cordillera Resources, Inc. to conduct serial transect mapping on these prospects during the 2007 and 2008 field seasons.

Cedar Strat believes strongly that serial transect mapping greatly improves understanding the geological structures of the area, especially when combined with gravity, magnetic, seismic, well studies that include Palynomorph analyses when needed, and other regional data.

This part of the Cordillera thrust belt has complex geological structures that run counter to conventional expectations of oil and gas explorers — structures that are best revealed by serial transect mapping.

Cedar Strat will provide participants with the results of this serial transect mapping effort, along with a license to commercial aeromagnetic and gravity data, proprietary gravity studies, available seismic data, well studies, cross sections, and lease assignments once a deal is completed.

Featured Prospects

Three prospects merit special attention based on our recent findings with transect mapping and detailed gravity data.

Dome Mountain * Updated *

  • Acreage: 26,172
  • Exploration target: 1 well; the shallower of 18,000 feet or 200 feet into subthrust Devonian Simonson Dolomite
  • Drilling not later than: 2009
  • Cedar Strat provides: Proprietary gravity survey, well studies, serial transect mapping ( over 8,000 attitudes for tight structural constraints )

Dome Mountain is a prominent gravity anomaly caused by a folded and possibly imbricated thrust klippe of Devonian carbonates. The thrust klippe lies on Mississippian source rocks that could also serve as a seal on subthrust fractured and partially karsted Devonian carbonates.

Dome Mountain is situated squarely within the Nevada Oil & Gas "Fairway" and the Central Nevada Thrust Belt.

Dome Mountain's thrust klippe lies just to the south of the Noah Project prospect and promises to be the key that unlocks the structural geology of the Noah Project.

Cordillera Resources Inc. is making Dome Mountain the centerpiece for its area studies, as it has the potential to unlock the structural geology of the entire north-central Nevada region!

Duckwater Hills

  • Acreage: 20,472
  • Exploration target: 1 well; 18,000 feet
  • Drilling not later than: 2009
  • Cedar Strat provides: Proprietary gravity survey and well studies. Serial transect mapping may also become available.

Duckwater Hills is a thrust duplex anticline located within the Pancake Range, adjacent to Railroad Valley.

The drilling target at Duckwater Hills is a thick ( 200 - 400 feet ) karsted interval trapped between a regional unconformity and the top of the Middle Devonian Simonson formation.

This reservoir rock is repeated twice - once at approximately 5,000 feet and again at around 18,000 feet.

Union Pass

  • Acreage: 15,868
  • Exploration target: 1 well; 18,000 feet
  • Drilling not later than: 2009
  • Cedar Strat provides: Proprietary gravity survey, well studies, serial transect mapping

Union Pass contains anticlinal thrust and fold features expressed as a major gravity anomaly near oil fields that produce from Paleozoic reservoirs.

Union Pass is situated between the active Piñon Play and South Sulphur Spring prospects. Like the remaining Cedar Strat prospects, Union Pass is situated favorably within the Nevada Oil & Gas "Fairway".
